At the root of my stories there is a girl who, when young, wanted to be tough enough to do what the boys did – but do it in a skirt and lipgloss. And as she grew, realized that it simply means being strong enough as a woman to experience the world around her with a different eye. I covet couture and haunt gear racks at the local backcountry store, wander the streets of Manhattan and race bareback to outrun a pairie lightening storms. One day I simply realized: I’m happiest being curious. Happiest exploring uncharted territory and new experiences. And completely happy to be doing it as a woman.
